Through performances at band events, football games, and parades, the Ashworth Band, under the leadership of Mr. Will Johnson, serves as a very visible facet of Ashworth Middle School. The Band is made up of just over 100 students, or about 30% of the student population at Ashworth.

The director, Mr. Will Johnson, who also attended Ashworth as a student, is a Gordon Central High School graduate, received his bachelor's degree in Music Education from Shorter University and his Masters in Music Education from the University of Georgia.
